More than choreography. This is movement with purpose.

Get Out of Your Head and Into Your Body
Movement is a natural way to calm the mind, refocus our thoughts, and reconnect us with our bodies. It brings deeper awareness to our stories and life experiences.
Whether you're just exploring dance, returning after a break, or looking for a healthier way to move through life, our classes invite you to get into your body, ease your mind, and enjoy dancing with others in a supportive, creative space.
Each session blends dance, movement, music, and evidence-informed practices into a fun, engaging experience that supports health, well-being, and a more joyful life. You’ll strengthen balance and coordination, engage your brain in new ways, reduce stress, and enjoy moving with curiosity and confidence.

Movement With You In Mind
All of our classes are designed with a core question in mind: How can movement support healthy bodies, creative expression, nervous system wellness, healing, and self-care?
We draw on extensive experience in somatic practice, dance, expressive movement, neuroscience, integrative wellness, and whole-person health to design sessions that support well-being, mobility, and meaningful, enjoyable movement.
Whether you're joining us for Somatic Rhythms™, Beginning Belly Dance Fusion, Breath to the Beat™, or any of our other signature programs, you’ll enjoy more than a series of exercises or dance steps. You'll participate in purposeful movement designed to enhance body awareness, support physical and emotional well-being, encourage self-expression, and bring greater ease into your life.
The Heart of Somatic Dance & Movement
"Somatic" means in the body. Somatic dance develops awareness of sensation, breath, posture, emotion, and the way we naturally move.
In all of our classes, you're encouraged to participate at your own pace and in ways that feel right for you. While somatic dance and movement are not therapy, most participants describe the experience as deeply relaxing, uplifting, and transformative.
Somatic principles are woven throughout all of our programs and services to support self-care, healing, and overall well-being.

Why People Make Somatic Practice a Part of Their Wellness Routine
Regular somatic dance and movement can provide numerous benefits for the body and mind, including:
Improved flexibility and coordination
Greater mobility and balance
Increased strength and stamina
Reduced stress and physical tension
Improved mood and emotional release
Better sleep and rest quality
Improved digestion and gut–brain connection
Enhanced body awareness and presence
Greater confidence in movement
More balanced nervous system
Energizing, uplifting movement experiences
Enhanced creativity and self-expression

What Is Somatic Dance?
(And Why Does It Work?)
Somatic means 'in the body.' Most of us spend so much time in our heads that we lose touch with what our bodies are actually holding. Stress, grief, tension, and old pain can get stuck inside us and show up as anxiety, fatigue, depression, and more.

Somatic dance gently helps the body release what no longer needs to be carried. Through freeform and guided movement and music, our classes ease tension, increase mobility, and foster emotional healing and creative expression. No dance experience needed. Every movement is adaptable, and everyone belongs here.

While somatic dance is therapeutic, it is not clinical therapy. It is an expressive art form with well-documented health and wellness benefits.
Come move, release, and reconnect with yourself.

Breath to the Beat™
60 minutes | Weekly | Phoenix, AZ

Percussion, Breath & Movement
Breath to the Beat® is a rhythm-movement experience where percussion leads the dance. In each session, participants explore a variety of instruments, including bongos, tambourines, finger cymbals, doumbeks, shakers, and more, creating connection between rhythm and the body.
Percussion has been shown in research to support focus, coordination, and nervous system regulation. Many people feel more relaxed and grounded after working with steady and changing rhythms.
This class offers a calming, expressive experience through sound and freeform movement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. You’re encouraged to participate in ways that feel right for your body and your current abilities. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
We usually begin seated or on a yoga mat with a guided mindfulness practice. From there, we move into gentle somatic movements to wake up the body and create deeper awareness. As the class progresses, we explore different themes and emotions through movement and music selected for that session. Props may be used at times to encourage creative expression and embodiment. Classes often end with either an energizing freestyle dance or a slower, more reflective closing practice.
- Somatic Rhythms™ / Breath to the Beat™: Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Most people dance barefoot, though grip socks are also fine. Bring a yoga mat and water if you like. We also have mats available.
- Beginning Belly Dance Fusion: Wear comfortable fitted clothing such as leggings, yoga pants, or gym shorts with a tank top or t-shirt. This class is danced barefoot, though soft dance shoes or slippers are optional. Props and coin belts are provided. Please allow 45–60 minutes after eating before class, as we do engage the core.
- Faithful Rhythms™: Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing is recommended. Soft-soled shoes, gym slippers, or grip socks work best. This class is free, with a suggested $10 donation supporting community outreach programs.
Yes, our classes support strength, flexibility, mobility, and overall physical fitness. Some styles, like Belly Dance Fusion, provide a full-body workout through core strengthening, isolations, undulations, and shimmies. Others, like somatic and free-form movement classes, engage the body through movements that build balance, flexibility, and stamina. Many people experience both energizing and restorative effects within the same class.
